HOCKEY.
The following team has been selected to represent the To Huia (High School girls) hockey team on tho Hawke’s Bay tour: —Vera McDonald, Jessie Ferguson, Ida. Bushnell, Dorothv Aliller, Belle Pearce, Ivy Parker. Ethel Black (vice-captain), Alabel Alalcolm, Ruth Malcolm. May Reddell (captain). Emergencies, Chrissie Johnston and Ethel Barry. Tho team leaves to-morrow evening for Napier by the s.s. Alonowai, and it is expected that they will be away about, ten days. Aliss Puflett accompanies the team as manager, and Airs Allen as chaperon, with Air. 0. R. Olsen in the capacity of coach. The girls had a practice match with the Rata ladies’ team (who were three short) yesterday afternoon, defeating them by 8 goals to 3. The prowess •, the school team displayed augurs well for the success of the tour.
The following team has been selected to represent Poverty Bay in their representative fixture with Hawke’s Bav at Napier on Monday: Goalkeeper, Bull; backs, AlcLean and J. Doyle; halves, 0. R. Olsen, Armstrong, and AVoodward ; forwards, JPollock, Bright, Day, Roderick, and Tabernacle. The team will leave by tho s.s. Alonowai for South to-morrow evening, and will return on AVednesdav morning. It is hardly a thoroughly representative eleven, but although slightly handicapped by not having any practice together, the players chosen can safelv be trusted to give a good account of themselves against tneir formidable rivals.
