During the gale, a French-Cana-dian named Legros had a thrilling adventure. Whilst fishing at Newcastle, he was blown out to sea, and passed a terrible night. The lookout, on tho steamer Colac heard cries before dawn, 20 miles east of Newcastle. The vessel hovo-to till daylight, when Legros was discovered and rescued.
