Captain Tucker, M.L.C., is at present iu town, and does not expect to return to Wellington lor li fortnight. Ho states that there is practically nothing to do in the Legislative Council at present, and he can do that just as well in Gisborne as in Wellington. Mr. J. B. Gov, Oppo.s'l ion candidate for the Bay of I’Anty s.ml, u a in town yesterday, and 'left this Horning for' tho Coast Mr. Gc-w expressed himself 1o a ‘•Times’’ repmter as being exceedingly i lcnse-l with In’s prospects.
