LAND BOARDS.

DEPUTATION TO HON. McNAB

[Press Association.]

WELLINGTON, July 31. A deputation, introduced by Mr. Mncplierson, waited oil the Minister for Lands on Thursday to urge the necessity of fortnightly instead of monthly meetings of Land Boards, in view of the greatly increased work, and also tho better remuneration of members of Boards. The Minister j in his reply, expressed sympathy with tlie proposal of the deputation. He said he recognised that the remuneration at present fixed by statute was inadequate, andlie would see what he could do. Regarding fortnightly meetings, these might be desirable in cases of the larger Boards. He would consider the matter.
