FOOTBALL CRITICISM:
[To the Editor.]
Sir, —-Ivindly. allow mo q lew tines in your valuable paper to bring under the notice of the public the unjust remarks and criticisms by “Full Back” in your supplement of 25th inst. Referring to alleged rough play by Kaiti-City forwards in last vYest End -Kaiti-City match, and as one who has played the game, not only in Gisborne but also in other centres, I feel quite satisfied that “Full Back” has never seen football outside the Bay, and is therefore not justified in commenting on rough play. I also beg to call attention to the very personal criticisms regarding some of our hacks, which are apt to discourage younger players in our national game, and that qur selectors are quite competent of picking their own team. Regarding the referee (Air. Williams), in my opinion both teams were perfectlv. satisfied with his decisions and ruling of the game. Trusting that “Full. Back” will uso a little more judgment ip future reports,—l am, etc., A KAITI-CITY FORWARD,
