The conference passed a vote of thanks to the Wellington and Lyttelton Harbor Boards for the efforts they ; ; j were making towards providing bath-ii"' ing accommodation and lockers for waterside workers, and urging upon X.;’ them the necessity of the early com- " plction of those works. : .a. It was decided t 0 The. Government that provlsion'Mie made for the representation of all Waterside Workers’ Unions on Harbor Boards.
The enforcement of the Government regulation of the size of grain sacks was urged upon the Government by the conference. -Mr. Canham, Auckland, said that -Maoris had been sending to Auckland sacks with -1001 bof maize. iMr. Voycc. Lyttel- i ton, complained that bags contain- i ing 2431bs were .shipped,' but a sack 1$ of 2001bs should he the maximum /. weight. Ithvas decided to thank and - congratulate the Government on bringing in regulations to reduce the size of grain sacks.
