PERSONAL.
Air. T. Holden lias asked and consented to allow himself to be nominated as President of the A. and P. Association. The nominations will not, close until the meeting of the Society to he held at II o'clock tomorrow morning. Air. Holden has been President of the Association for the past six years. Air. A. Keefer has been appointed a member of the Te Rawbiti Land Board to fill the vacancy caused by the retirement of Colonel Porter. Yesterday afternoon, at the District High School, .Standard V. entertained the senior girls and teachers at afternoon tea. Afterwards three presentations were made to the cookery instructress, Aliss Lousley, who is leaving Gisborne. The girls of Stand irds V. and VI. presented her with a silver jewel case- and gold lace pin, and then Aliss Alona Parker, for the High School pupils, made a presentation of a silver manicure set, and in doing so made an excellent speech, in which she conveyed the good wishes of the school to Aliss Lousley. AH. F. J. Rowley, headmaster of the school, finally presentee] Aliss Lousley with an enamelled wrist-watch on behalf of the teachers. Ho expressed much regret at- her coming departure, hut wished her every happiness, and expressed tho hope that , she would return. Air. Leslie replied on behalf of Alias Lousley, and three hearty cheers were then given for her.
