A SLACKENING OF WORK.

AUCKLAND,’ July 1., Tho wet weather has resulted in a general slackening of work at tho fiaxmills in the Auckland district, one reason being that the swamp lands are under water and the cutters cannot get to work there, and another that,there has been no opportunity for drying fibre. During tho p i i month only 467 bales, about 116 to' have passed through tho grad, store at Auckland. At present prison the London market this ropij cuts a value to the millers of abj £2700.
