DANNKVIRKE, July 1. An accident occurred this * afternon; when Air. C. Barker, a wellknown settler of Redclolfs, Canterbury,, a recent resident in this dis- S' trict, met his death. Deceased and Air. Averill, manager of the Manga- „ toro station, were driving home when tile horse shied and Iwtli were thrown over an embankment. Barker was not seriously injured, but being a sufferer from heart disease, succuri ed in bed from shock.
