J Carroll, Native Minister, lias issued instructions that the\ big canoe Taheretikitikei is to be returned to Auckland so that it may be used in connection with the reception to the American fleet. It was originally brought from Auckland for the Exhibition, and at the close was in the Christchurch Museum hp- safety. It was not given to the m«6euui authorities, and is simply being returned to its owners.
