Messrs. Williams and Kettle Ltd., yarded about 60 hacks, and a few unbroken colts at Wyllies’ horse bazaar oiliSaturday. Mr Waclismanai auctioneered, and few buyers were present. There was practically no competition, and most of the lots on offer were withdrawn. The hacks brought from £3 to £l7 10s piiiibrokeus from £2 to £4, while a, draught mare offered was withdrawn at £25. Messrs. Miller and Craig report tho following prices at their produce sales on Saturday : Hens Is 4d to Is lid, roosters Is 4d to Is 9d, ducks 2s to 33, turkeys.Cs, pumpkins 3s 9d sack, butter lid to Is per lb., eggs 2s 2d to 2s 4d, onions li lb., potatoes Id Hi., 12s Gd sack, lettuce Is doz., beetroot Is dor,., leeks Is doz., marrows 3s doz., strawberry plants Is 9d per 100, kumeras -3s to 4s per case, maize os per bushel.
Messrs F. S. Malcolm and Co., auctioneers, report the following prices realised at their produce sales oil oaturelay: Boosters 2s 2d to 2s Gd, purebred do 4s to 4s 9d, pullets Is 3d to Is sd, Inns Is 6d to 2s, turkevs 3s Gd to ss, eggs 2s 4d to 2s sd, butter lid and Is, onions 10s 1001 b sack. l{d lb., best potatoes 13s sack, Id lb. in small bags, cabbage plants Gd bundle, cabbages .3s 3d sack, turnips 3d bundle, pumpkins 2s 6d to 5s per doz., pic melons 4s doz.. Reports from Tasmania state that the potato crops are much lighter than last year. Victorian potatoes aro all more or less damaged by grub and the crop throughout is very light —in fact, quite insufficient for their own requirements. The New Zealand crop will not last until the new cron is available, so tint a steady advance may be expected. Telegrams from South show an advance of 10s a ton.
