Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 1. At the Supreme Court to-day, John Hogan, who'was tried on a charge of indecent assault when the jury failed to agree, was re-tried and acquitted. Raniera To Him was sentenced to two years’ Imprisonment for forgery. CHRISTCHURCH, June 1. At Lyttelton to-day a seaman named Solway, belonging to the s.sRipple, was fined 10s for out of season, native ducks brought from the Chatham Islands. Sergb. Ryan stated that a very large number of ducks had been brought from the Chatlmms in the Ripple last trip, and had been disposed of in Lyttelton. Itwas said that as many as 500 ducks had been brought in the Steamer, but lie could not vouch for the accuracy of that statement, but if it were true the birds would soon be extinct at the Chatham Islands.
