HOLY TRINITY CHURCH.
I’AItISH ANNIVERSARY. All details in connection with tho celebration of tho above important event are completed, and thei'promoters only need fine weather in order to have their efforts crowned with complete success. Tho Festival begins to-morrow (AVednesday) evening in His Majesty’s Theatre with the great parish tea. Tea will bo on tho tables in the supper room, and. on the stage, from 6 p. m. till 7.30 p.m., and during tea A’ita Bros’, string orchestra will play- At 8 o’clock Dr Gerard Smith will deliver a limelight lecture on “Egypt/’ The colored slides brought bv Dr. Smith are magnificent productions. The committee expresses the (hope that, whilst children are not exxiected to be at.the tea to-morrow evening, parents will see that the young people come to the illustrated lecture, it being of very high educational value. Thursday is* voung people’s day, and will bo celebrated by a great children's tea in the Theatre. The committee have been urged to begin the tea at 5.30 p.m., instead of 6 p.m., as previously announced, and have agreed to the change of hour. Tea will therefore be on from 5.30 till 7 i).m. After tea there will bo an entertainment, including a most gorgeous “Punch'' and Judy” performance. This will be in the capable bands of Air. Downes, who has toured Australasia. During the evening the annual prizes won in Trinity Sunday School will bo presented. Parents and adults generally win..be very welcome to the children’s tea. On Friday the anniversary conversazione will be held in the ‘ Theatre, and a capital programme has been prepared. The committee expresses the hope that every parishioner in the district will be present on at least one of the evenings this week. They also wish it to be clearly understood that all residents, adults and children, without exception, will be heartily welcomed at all or any of the Festival gatherings. A small .charge will be mule of one shilling (each evening) for adults, and' sixpence (on AA’edt level ay and Thursday evenings) for children, for the purpose of defraying the heavy expenses incurred.
