ACCUSED ACQUITTED. CONDUCT JUSTIFIED. Press Association. DUNEDIN, May 29. At tho Supreme Court to-day Joseph Coddoi was acquitted oil- charges of manslaughter .'arising out of a collision in. Lower Harbour on April 18. : Counsel for the, defence contended that accused was quite justified in taking the course lie, did and that there was nothing for him but to take such a course, as the Lady Roberts was steering i;v ragged course on tho wrong side of tiio channel.
