OPENING SETTINGS. United Press Association —Copyright (Received Alay 17, 4.14 p.m.) LONDON, Alay 16. In the Court of Criminal Appeal, at lie first sitting yesterday, the Lord Chief Justice emphasised that the Court was not re-trying the cases. Out of several application? for leave to appeal, only one was granted. A conviction was quashed in a case wherein the judge at the trial had expressed his dissatisfaction at- the. verdict.
