(Press Association.) HASTINGS, 'May 7. Mossrs Poliohot, McLeod and Company held a stud sale today. Buyers were present from Wellington, Wairarapn, and Gisborne. Brood mares realised from 20 to. 375 guineas, and yearlings avoraged 51 guineas. C. J. Parker (Gisborne) purchased Mousquoterio for 375gns, and St Amy lor 170gns. lan Duncan (Wellington) secured Bllue Water for 100 gns., Lady Melon (with Morriwco foal) 90gns., and n yearling filly 70 gns. Luipton (Wavorloy) purchased Palaver for 80-gns. J. R. Me Donald (Horowhomui) purchased The Shannon for 90gns.; Quinlivon (Hastings) Bubbles, 85gns.; J. 11. Prosser (Porirua), yearling colt by Mcrriweo—lsmoue, 60gns. There were no bids foir Morriwco, and Grand Slam was passed in at 410gns.
HAWKE’S BAY MEETING. ~NAPIER, May 8. Tho autumn meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club concluded to-day in fine weather. The totalisator handled during tho meeting £18,005,. or £sl less than. Also started: Pretty Maid, Full Cry, Whakawehi, Crackpot, Brown Belt, Knharawa. Won easily. Time, 2min 53-Jsec. Okawa Hack Handicap, 7 furlongs. —Gold Field 7.8 1, Lainsdorff 7.8 2, Utopia 6.7 3. Also started: Seaton Dale, Ohrysophrase, Comedian, Illustrious, San Jose, Prize Bloom, Wonderbohm, Robin Link, Roso Lethe, Mcriie Tiger. Won comfortably. Timo, lniin 32scc. Hawke’s Bay Stakes, 6} furlongs.— Bobrikoff 8.6 1, King Post 8.6 2, Gold Crest 9.13 3. Also started: All Red, Aborigine, Diamond Star, Splash. Bobrikoff led all the way, and won by a clear length. Mangatarata Hurdles, 13 miles.— Waipu 9(4 1, Black Reyiyml 11.11 2, Gold Dust 11.13 3. Also started: Asteroid, Pushful, To Kainui, and Reservoir. Won by half a length. Time, 3min 20 3-ssec. Tho stewards considered the running of Waipu, but decided that it was unnecessary to hold an inquiry. Juvenile Handicap, 5 furlongs.— Chanteuse 7.11 1, Contendent 8.10 2, The Cockatoo 6.13 3. Also started: Formative, Berongaria, Castiglione, Bally High, Remission, Polynices and Thaler. Won by half a length. Time
