HOCKEY.
A very interesting hockey tournament ivas held on the Victoria Domain yesterday afternoon. Six teams entered for the seven-aside, game, and some very even matches were witnessed. i£k>od play was seen in every team and with the new Mood Poverty Bay ought to ho very well off for firstclassj ■players. Although but the oponing of the season very good form was shown. This sneaks well for the coming matches and the club matches, which-start next Thursday, should he evenly contested. Te It an and City B. -played, off for the final, but the game had to como .to an end, owing tb the light failing, l with one goal to tlio credit of each,'neither team being 'able to score again. .Bloomfield won the driving competition by about two yards. Mr Pavitt refereed throughout the tournament.
