The autumn meeting of the -Hawke’s Bay Jockey -Club was opened at Hastings to-day in fine weather. There was a good -attendance and among the visitors was the Hon. J. A. Millar. The sum of £8515 was handled by the totalisator as against £10,4.13 on the corresponding day of last vear -when there was a double •machine. Thirteen bookmakers did business to-day.
