THE LYTTELTON SHOOTING CASE.
A MILD SENSATION. HALL COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, May 7. The hearing of the charges against Frederick Halil of attempting to murder Alex. James Muir, and of attempting to fire a revolver at Constable Moriarty came on at the Lyttelton Police Court to-day and excited interest sufficient to draw a crowd to the court house. The injured man Muir arrived by the 9,55 a.m. train from Christchurch to attend the Court and his arrival caused quite a stir, a considerable number of people following him along the street. He appeared to be still suffering from the’ effects of his wounds and had to sit in .Court while giving evidence. A considerable quantity of evidence relating to tlio alleged crimes was heard and Hall was committed for trial at the next criminal sessions.
