CONSIDERATION IN CHRISTCHURCH. AMEN.DMENTSSUGG-ESTEP. (Press Association.) OHRISTOHURCH, -May 6. Tho Hospital and Chsmtablo Institutions -Bill was considered by tlio Hospital .Board to-day when a number of amendments suggested by a special sub-committeo were approved of tlio principal being tho rent clause, providing tlliat the appointment of any medical officer or matron should bo subject to tlio approval of tlio Minister; that there should bo struck, also, a limiting rate of subsidy; that appeals dliould be mado to tlio Supreme Court -instead of to the Commissioner or tho Minister; that Boards should have .power to sell any lauds vested in them not considered necessary to hold. .Proposals relating to the election of committees in subdistriots met with disapproval on the grounds that endless -friction -would arise between tho various committees .and tho Board. Tthe -Board should consist of a sufficient number of members from -whom to elect its own committees.
