(Press Ass-ociatiou.).. ’AUCKLAND. Alay 5. A man named Thomas Pink, arrested -for drunkenness at Henderson on Friday night, was placed in the cells at Auckland police station, apparently asleep. Attempts to waken him failed till Sunday, when lie complain l -' cil of -feeling queer. He was removed to the hospital, where he died. An inquest was opened and adjourned. HAWERA, Alay 5. A series of burglaries occurred on Alonday night. The Central hotel, Cudby’s boot shop and the Egmont hotel were all visited and articles were taken. A mini had been arrested and the stolen goods havo been recovered from a drain. AUCKLAND, May 5. While Air and Mrs AY. Pavitt. ol St. Stephens Avenue. Parnell, were visiting friends in Ponsonby last night, a burglar entered their residence, ransacked it from top to bottom, and went- away with £lO in cash, £ls or £l6 worth of jewellery and sundry articles. -Air Pavitt is the local manager of tlie Royal Insurance -Comioany.
