HOCKEY.
A meeting of the Poverty Bay Hockey Association was held in the Royal Hotel last night. Present: Messrs J. J. Martin (in the chair), Davy, Olsen, Gideon, Lewis, Grant, Garrett, Roderick, and Sargis6on. A letter was received from the Poverty Bay Rugby Union, sanctioning the use of No. 1 and 2 grounds alternately on Thursdays with the footballers.—lt was decided to thank tho Rugby Union, and accept their terms. Letters were received from the Gisborno.Ladies’ Club and the Rata Hockey Ladies Club, asking to bo affiliated with the Association.—lt was unanimously decided to allow affiliation, the fee‘to be one guinea. Mr. Pavitt is to be asked to draw up a programme for tho hockey tournament, to be held next Thursday. It was decided to begin the competitions on 'Thursday, May 14th. The following is tho drawing for the first round:—May 14th: Kia Kalia v. City, 2.15; Te Rau v. West End, 3.20. May 21st: Te Rau v. Kia Kaha, 2.15; West End v. City, 3.20. May 28th: Te Rau v. City, 2.15; West End v. Kia Kaha, 3.20.
