Ai ATAWHERO STOCK SALES. The yimlings at Matawlicro ypeterday were far in excess of the demand; Buyers had everything their own'why,' anil fanners wore forced to accept exceedingly low prices or drive their stock liouio again. 'Beef sold :bo’tter, but empty store ewes, which predominated in the sheep pens, wero a drug in tho market and sold as low as 3s. SHEEP. About 15,000 sheep were penned, the fat stock being of superior quality. Pat weathers sold Irom 13s 9d to 14 Oil, ewes from Us (id to 13 fid, iambs from 7s to 8s Oil. Store wethers well forward, sold to 12s (id, and poorer sorts at lOs to 10s 2d and 12s Id. Store owes ‘‘slacked” considerably even on recent sales, and pen alter pen was passed. Prices ranged from 3s to 10s; the principal sales being: 10-1 at 10s, 97 at 9s Od, 135 at 7s Id, 3! .at 4s, 109 at 3s Bd, 12 at 3s Gd, 19 at 3s. Store lambs sold ibette.r, prices running from -Is to 7s Gd. CATTLE. About GOO head of cattlo wero yarded ;lat steers sold at £6 7s Gd, £7 and 07 ss, fat cows £3 5s to £4 17s Gd. Storo cattle sold at rocent_ rates; 37 well forward bullocks at £5 os, 20 at 94 15s, being the principal lines. Poorer sorts brought from £3 15s to 04 5s .and heifers sold from £2 5s to £3. 44 iwoll forward calves brought £1 19s, others from £1 2s Gd to 01 10s. Pigs brought £1 19s and £2, weaners Bs. COLONIAL SUGAR COMPANY. United Press Association—Copyright. SYDNEY, April 30. At the half-yearly meeting of the Colonial Sugar Company the net profits were shown to bo £134,779. A dividend of 10 per cent, was recommended, leaving £35,624 to carry forward. The. report stated that the farmers of Australia and New Zealand were beginning to realise the value of molasses for feeding stock. Local sales of Brilliants and Mountain Kings have been fairly brisk.
