ENTERTAINMENTS.

WEST’S PICTURES AND THE BRESCIANS.

The opening performance of West’s Pictures and the Bresciau Orchestra and singers will be to-night. It is to be regretted that they have had to curtail their season to two nights only. This is owing to an alteration in tho sailing arrangements of the Union Steamship Company, and intending patrons are therefore advised to book early. Mr. T. J. West has spared no pains to procure the most interesting, instructive, amusing and up-to-date films, and will present a very choice selection of these before the Gisborne public during tlieir two nights season, so that an exceptionally fine programme may be expected on each occasion. The concert programme provided by the Brescians will include gems of Grand and Comic opera and selections from English, Scotch and Irish music. Throughout the whole of the Australian States, as well as the Dominion, this combination of vocal and instrumental artists have been received with unbounded enthusiasm. They are highly artistic, and Mr. Fred. Mills, as will be iremembered, is a comedian of no common order, so that tho humorous portion of the programme may be safely guaranteed., The doors will be open at 7.15 and the curtain will rise at 8 sharp.
