WINTRY WEATHER IN WELLINGTON. VOLUNTEERS HAVE A AVET EXPERIENCE. Press Association. AVELLINGTON, April 19. Easter Saturday in AA’ellington wan a dismal wet day, with a fairly strong southerly blowing. Nearly all outdoor sports wero postponed or abandoned, though tho pony races were held at Aliramnr. Tho volunteers conducting manoeuvres between AVellington and Porirua had an unpleasantly damp experience. The forts on tlio harbor front, which are participating in the manoeuvres, were heard firing at intervals to-day. - The weather is quite fine,.anil appears likely to be favorable for the various lioiiday functions to-morrow.
