CONCILIATION BOARD.

GENERAL LABORERS’ DISPUTE. Press Association. .WANGANUI, April 13. The Conciliation Board sat this morning to hear the general laborers’ dispute as affecting local bodies and contractors. The employers, considering there was no local demand for increased wages, and therefore no dispute, did not appear, but several were subpoenaed by the Board and gave evidence. The chairman said that no matter whether the dispute affected local contractors, it originated in the Wellington industrial district, and therefore had to bo heard as affecting the whole district. Several workers’ representatives also gave evidence. Tho ißoard adjourned to Palmerston North, and thereafter sits at other centres.
