ENCOURAGEMENT OF ART, (Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, April 12. It is stated that the trustees under the will of the late Hon. J. T. Peacock have presented tho Canterbury Society of Arts with a- sum of £SOO, to be expended on pictures by European artists for the permanent collection.
