SHEEP DOG TRIALS.

A meeting of tho committeo of the Shop Dog Trial Club was held at the .Masonic Hotel on Saturday evening, tho President, Mr. J. A. Caesar, in tho chair. Tho secretary (Mr. R. Thehvall) reported that ho had met with satisfactory success in canvassing for subscriptions, all the donations given during tho last year being renewed. Tho Chairman said that ho had postponed tho trials until Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, May 14th, 15th and 16th, as it was found that accommodation could not be obtained at Ormond for visitors on tho original dates.

It was decided to hold tho trials at Ormond on tho date recommended; that tho programme bo the same as last year, and that a social bo bold on the Thursday evening and a smoke concert on the Saturday evening. Every accommodation is to bo made in tho ground for ladies. The special prizes awarded last year wer re-allotted, and, in addition, Mr. Aston offered a prize of £2 2s for the dog under best.control; Mr. Hawkins a prize of £1 Is,for tho dog scoring full points; and Messrs Tait and McDonald, conjointly, a cup valued at £3 3s for the shepherd gaining tho highest points and who has never won a prize previously. A vote of thanks was passed to all subscribers and donators of special prizes, and the meeting closed.
