MONTGOMERY’S PICTURES. , A moderate attendance greeted the second 2>erfonnanco of Montgomery's pictures at liis Majesty’s Theatre last night. Shortly after the commencement a slight mishap occurred' to the engine, which necessitated a - : .f£ considerable delay in the picture programme. The interval was filled ■ in by comic songs by Mr. C. Waud, and by a number ol gramaphone selections, and eventually the machinery was got. in motion again, much /■- to the delight of the juvenile portion of the audience. The film de- ; V-„, picting the King visiting the bat- %' tleship Dreadnought was undoubtedly ‘ ?'o the most popular item of the even- T: iug, while the beautifully colored, film “Alt Baba and the Forty Thieves” ; V’fi called forth considerable applause. Amongst the humorous pictures, “The Arm Chair” and “The Disturbed Wedding Party” were about.’«!? the best. Special mention must be made of [i< the Yodelling song, “Cuckoo,” sung by Mr. E. Montgomery, while Miss Hilda Hargood also sang a number of , ;; ; illustrated items with pleasing ef* :;••• ••• feet. Td-niglii- several new films and A**' -:ongs will be introduced, and the “star” film in the company’s selection, • which gives a realistic view of Wm. Webb winning' the rowing championship of the world will be shown.
