HOCKEY.

GISBORNE LADIES CLUB. The annual meeting of the GisborneLadies’ Hockey Club was held ill Townley’s hall yesterday afternoon, Miss B. Goffe in the -chair. There were about twenty ladies present, and a strong team of players should be available for the coming season. A club match will be played next Tuesday, and it is intended to open the season by playing a fancy dress game against a combined team of gentleman on the Victoria domain on Thursday week. The following ollicors were elected :~ Patron, Mr. W. D. Lysnar; Patroness, Mrs. W. D. Lysnar; President, Mr Wachsmann;vice-presidents, Messrs. It. M. Jones, Pavitt, C. Buscke, Matthews, .and Goffe, Dr. Collins, and Revs. Chatterton and Cockerell. Mcsdames. It. W. Burke, W. G. Sherratt, Bright, Jones, Goffe, and Gillingham. Captain, Miss A. do Latour; vice-captain, Miss E. Matthews; sec., Miss D. Osbourne; treasurer, Miss B. Goffe; committee, Misses Simson, Matthews, Goffe, Sawyer, Wilson, Sherratt, and tho officers.
