WHELCH RESIGNS AMATEURISM Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 8. George Whelcli, the Akaro oarsman, who won the Amateur Sculling Championship at Napier,is about to join the professional ranks. Whelcli seeks a match with Arnst and will also challenge Webb, holder of the world’s championship.
