PROPOSED EXHIBITION IN AUCKLAND. IDEA RECEIVES HEARTY SUP- . PORT. AUCKLAND, April 1. In connecton with the Auckland Industrial Association’s movement for an exhibition of N.Z.-made foods, it has been decided to inaugurate the same as a N.Z. industrial week. Circulars have been sent -out to the various shop-keepers in Auckand asking them to state which of the three following proposals they approve. (1) A slibp .window display; (2)~a shop window display in] conjunction with a collective exhibition in a hall; (3) an exhibition in a hall only. Those circularised have been asked, in the event of them favoring either of the first two schemes, whether they, will allow their shop windows to be used, and if so, what space will be available to-morrow. The committee of tho Association intend visiting the principal shopkeepers to confer on the subject. The replies to date to the circulars have been favorable. :So far as can be gathered, the idea of holding the exhibition in one form or another is being heartily taken up, and there is every prospect of one of the -proposals eventuating. The local association is in communication with the Wellington and Canterbury industrial associations with a view to concerted action being taken. The local exhibition would not be,confined to Auckland goods, but would ' embrace all classes of Dominion manufacturers. Mr. J. H. Mackie, secretary of the Auckland Industrial! Association, is already receiving Inquiries from the South'as to the form the exhibition will take, and it would appear that the only question that will • need. facing will be how to keen -the display within <a reasonable limit.
