IN ARGENTINE.

THE FARMING OUTLOOK. Mr Kingsland, who was in New Zealand over 30 years ago, and who cold storage 'business in Buenos Aires, lias some interesting remarks (says the “Evening .Post”) to make concerning matters in Argentina. Mr Kingsland was the .founder of the La Plata Cold Storage Company of Buenos Aires, the capital for which was raised in .South Africa. The undertaking, lie inormed a represendertaking iwas dealing with some 450 bullocks and 400 slieep daily but it is now turning out 600 .bullocks and 6000 sheep, all for the British markets. The dairying industry, Mr Kingsland states, was makintr threat progress. It was largely in'the hands of Spanish .Basques ami Germans, who were indefatigable workers and conducted their business upon modern lines, there was, he said, much difficulty in procuring labor for milking. The labor for other purposes is Italian, and it is generally satisfactory, the immigrants being liard-working, intelligent, and .migal C people. Usually the system was to put a lot of immigrants on to cropping tlio land, and land was pi t down in alfalfa or lucerne, for ieedin|he°prospects of the country were extremely bright, notwithstanding what superficial observers migli and Mr Kingsland did not think New Zealand could afford to hold liei competitor in the frozen moat and dairying industries too cheaidy. Tho country was peaceful, "l>j. fact was no doubt attrffiutabffi to the enormous amount of fore hoi caniW invested in its eiitei prises and industries, England having, £2,000,000 in the railways lo t ' Americans were making a s j r or the trade, and had recently bought the company with 'vhieh . Kin” sis ml was .identified, ittdinin„ him until a few months ago as advisory director.
