BILLIARDS.

Despite the inclemency of the weather a good number attended at the Victoria Billiard Saloon last night, when R. Kay and H. Aston tried conclusions in the competition for the billiard championship of Gisborne. Kay got- well away at the commencement, and keeping his lead throughout ran out an easy winner when his adversary was 181. Aston was distinctly off color, and did not play up to liis reputation. The game was a fairly slow one, and lasted for 1 hour and. 14 minutes. To-night L. MeGonigal and J. B. Rex meet at 7.30, when an interesting contest is expected.
