SHARP DROP IN PRICES

United Press Association —Copyright LONDON, March 17. Tho wool sales opened flat, with a 7 j to 15 per cent, decline.

The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd.', arc in receipt of tlio following cable re wool from their London office: “As compared with last sales’ closing rate, prices are lower about 71 to 10 per cent, for merino, and 10 to 15 per cent, for cross-bred. Bidding is inactive.” Messrs Common, Shelton and Co. have received the following cable message from London: Medium crossbreds are 15 per cent, down as compared with January sales.
