There was a large attendance at the usual weekly meeting of Ithe Management Committee of the Poverty Bay Cricket Association at the British Empre Hotel Hast evening. There were present: .Mesrs R. CL Hallamore (in the chair), J. Lang, J. Gibson, J. Charles, It. Thelwall, O. R. Olsen, F. T. Knight, R. Emanuel, J. Waek, P. McColl, H. E. Maude, W. Gibson, and -I. G. Grinlinton Chon, secretary). The Secretary of the Concert Comitteo (Mr G-rinlinton) presented a report on tho recent concert, widen was of a highly successful nature, and disclosed a profit of £l2 2s, despite tho very wot evening on which the entertainment was held. The Hon. Treasurer (Mr H. E. Maude). read a report showing tho position of the Association, and- stated that about £l6 was still required to diear the expenditure on machinery, laying of water, and incidental expenses An connection with .the lay’ing down .and upkeep of the now tur'f wicket. In the .course of the discussion which' ensued, the Chairman stated that the financial position of the Association was eminently satisfactory considering .tho heavy initial expenditure) which told been incurred an laying down tho turf wicket.
