THE GISBORNE BOWLERS. BEATEN BY PALMERSTON. (Special to Times). NAPIER, March 16. We won two out of three matches to-day. Napier 20—Gisborne 21 was the first reading, and the second was Hastings 13—Gisborne 32 for 18 heads. Everything looked lovely at this stage, until Palmerston North came on the scene, and this brought us to our senses, with such a doing, 28 to 10, but wq still have a good chaucevof winning our section, as if tlio team that beat us to-niglit meets with a loss we can certainly settle them if we meet again. To-day the best team won, but we are satisfied. Wo play three games to-morrow, and expect to win the lot; in any case we will be closo up when the final event is posted. Another trophy has been donated, to bo called the Citizens’ Trophy. This is a knock-out game, and we intend putting a good performance in this event. Tlio team are all well, and- the entertainment is excellent.
