annual aieeting. Press Association. AA ELLINGTON, March 17. The .annual report of the Wellimrtou and Alarmwatu Railway Company states .that tlhe gross earnings of ,tho line ror tho year ended February 29th -last amounted to £160,650, being £15,913 greater than for tho previous year. Land Lvas sold during tho year to the amount of £18,720, and tho balanco-shoet shows assets as follows:—Railway and rolling stock, £823,376; freehold lands, £8995; balances due by Lind purchasers, £44,190; debentures purchased and accrued interest, £94,043; sundry debtors, £5065; railway stores, £10,727; cash -balance, £31,233; total £1,086,520. The capital of tho company is nominally £1,000,000, and of this ij"850,000 is subscribed in 170,000 shares of £5 each. These shares .are paid up to the extent of £l, .and there’ are debentures amounting to £68,000. Of the total number of shares 80,525 ore on tho London register, and 89,475 on the Wellington register. As telegraphed .the other day, the directors recommend a dividend of 4 per cent, for the first half-year, making 7 per cent, for the year.
