METHODIST CONFERENCE.
A TEMPERANCE RESOLUTION. Press Association. AUCKLAND, Alarch 10. At the Aletliodist Conference, which concluded to-night, a resolution was carried affirming the principle of Bible reading in schools. It- was decided that the next Conference should meet in AA’ellington, commencing on February 28th, 190 S. Tho Rev. J. Leavis moved: “In vieav of the alarming spread of intemperance, this Conference again records its strong protest against the existence- of the liqaior traffic, and calls upon all our people throughout the Dominion to unite in the endeavor to secure its overthroav. AVith tho approach of tho local option poll, it is hoped that there avill be an awakening of fresh enthusiasm in this holy crusade, so as to aviden, as far as possible, tire no-license areas. The good results of no-liceuso in districts whore it prevails are so manifest as to constitute an overavhelming argument in its favor.” The motion avas carried.
