IMPORTANT CHANGES. A CLEAN SWEEP. As a result of the recent investigations into mutters' concerning tho local police foi'co, which woro recently conducted by Sub-Inspector Dwyer, some <1 rustic cliangos, amounting to an entire reorganisation of tho local forco, are to take place. Constable Irwin, who was recently convicted of an assault at Waoronga-a-hika, is to be dismissed from tho forco; Detective Maddorn is to be disrated and transferred to Dunedin, whore lie will act as constable; Sergeant Williams is to bo transferred/to Auckland, and Constable Taifc to Wellington. • Sergeant Hutton, from Mt. Cook, Wellington, •is to take charge of the district; and Constable Dandy, from Dunedin, is also to bo brought horo.
