Li e bv t race for the Townlev Cup which was to have been run on Thu ITSday was posponed owing to rain, and will be held next Thursday. The (n----trv o> a large one and as the competitors have been training hard, the host race of the season can be looked for. Cycling racing lias now got a good bold in the town and thor.e who are controlling it, arc preparing to make an effort to acquire a racing track for next season. No endeavor will be made to get a first-class track- with ail modern improvements, but the efforts of the promoters will b.e in the direction of acquiring- a fair track somewhere near, twv.n, it being recognised that.-(by- <xM track was too far away.
