TOURNAAIENT AT AIAKAURI. The East Coast Polo Association continued their annual- tournament at Makauri yesterday. Mangaheia No. 1 and Waiapu resumed the game which was abandoned owing to rain .m Thursday afternoon after the first spell lias been played, with- the score standing: Waiapu 1, Alangaheia nil. From the commencement of play yesterday, an excellent contest was witnessed. The teams were very evenly matched, and the play in each spell was of a fast and exciting nature. The game eventually ended in a win for Alangaheia by 6 goals to 2. The teams were as /follows: —Alangaheia No. 1 (green and white): It. Iv. Alurphv 1, It. G. Black 2, G. Al. Reynolds ■i, and It. C. Murray (back). Waiapu (rod and white): A. 13. Williams 1, (1. Busby 2,'Jv. S. Williams 3, R. G. •faxby (back). The first game in the Handicap .Match was then played, Poverty Bay N. 1 (scratch) meeting Alangaheia N). II (1.8 goals). The teams were .-■1; under:—Poverty Bay No. I. (blue and white): E. Alonektcn 1, T. Sherrafct 2, It. Shorratt 3, J. It, Murphy (hack). Mangaheia No. II: D. H. Hawkins 1, It. Black 2, J. Rutledge J, L. Rutledge (back).. This was ex-p.-.ted to he a comfortable win for tho i.' iverty Bay' No. i. quartette after their fine display on Thursday, but (' a Alangaheia seconds played up ndeiulidly, and kept their antagonists •i„ bay well. 'J hough the P.B. seniors . syed a fine game, they were only able to score II goals, owing to the persistent and plucky manner in which tho Alangaheia men' stuck to them. Tho gamo thus ended: Man* wheia 11. 18 goals, Poverty Bay No. I. 11 goals. To-day Alangaheia No. I. (3) meets Poverty Bay No. II (22) at 9 a.m. After this game play will cease for the day to enable the players to attend the cricket match, Wanganui v. Christ’s College Old Boys, at T.aruhru.

Air. AV. O. Shorratt acted as umpire yesterday, and afternoon tea was P’ovidetl by Mr. A. B. Williams, Air. Dustin doing the catering.
