NATIVE SCHOOLS.

lON. AIR. FOWLDS EULOGISTIC. Frees Association. AUCKLAND, Alarch 6. The Hon. Geo. Fowlds (Minister for .Education) .arrived in Auckland last jvening, having come overland from Gisborne, and this morning he conferred with the Education Board on matters of education in the district. “I have,” lie says, “inspected many schools, but have not seen one European school which would compare with the cleanliness of any of the Alaori.schools. The floors and desks are spotless, and it is especially gratifying to note that the native schools teachers do not content themselves with the school work alone, but exercise a great influence for good in the kaingas. I have inspected's2 schools since leaving Wellington three weeks ago. • , ••
