HERBERT FLE AIMING COAIPANY
Air. Herbert Flemming and his new company will commence a four night season at His Majesty’s on Wednesday next. ‘'The Alummy and the Humming Bird” will be the initial attraction. The moral of this play to he presented by Air. Flemming is that it is risky for absent-minded husbands to have hobbies and handsome young wives at the same time. Around this idea Air. Isaac Henderson has written a fine story, presented in the form of a social problem, which As not only interesting, but abounding in humor. Owing to the number of plays to be produced during the company’s stay in Gisborne, “The Mummy and til*. Humming Bird” can only be played for one night, and in turn will give way to “The Alorals of Alarcus,” of which the London Times says: “Compared with the ordinary play of today, it distinctly stands out as an original and clever creation; it is full of interest because, once again, it deals with the passionate side of human nature with delicacy and profound insight—a fascinating mixture of true tragedy and most entertaining comedy.” On Friday Air. Flemming will present “Peter’s Alotlier,” a play that enjoys a good reputation, and that has had the distinction of being presented before Royalty on more than one occasion. It has a deeply interesting theme, which is said to be dramatically and tellingly treated. On Saturday night the company will stage “The Red Lamp” oil a scale of unexampled completeness and magnificence. The plans are now open at Aliller’s Corner.
