STRANDED BULGARIANS.
THE VICTIMS OF UNSCRUPULOUS AGENTS. United Press Association— Copyright (Received Feb. 15, 0.25 a.in.) MELBOURNE, Feb. 14. (Senator Best informed the Senate that the stranded Bulgarians came out. as a result of wicked and misleading representations by certain unscrupulous agents, whom it was impossible to identify. The agents guaranteed land to them in New Zealand or Australia, but they would not be responsible if the Government of either country objected to thenlanding. * ’They have no right to claim their passage money back. The Bulgarians were informed that they would get work as soon as they landed, the payment rate of LI a day being guaranteed until they secured employment. Senator Best added that even if the Government could discover the agents, it was questionable whether they would have any control over them. Further inquiries are being made.
