LAWN TENNIS.

During the week the tournaments in eacli club were considerably advanced, and they are all now at that stage when hard and interesting games are to be expected.

The two clubs will meet on the Whataupoko courts this afternoon ill a reurn match. In the previous match, played on the ICaiti courts, Whataupoko won by 21 games, and though the Whataupoko players are showing excellent form, the Kaiti player# »ppe in this match to turn the table*.

The match between Coleman and Govor for the Hawley Cup was expected to provide an exciting contest, but the former had a rather easy win, taking three straight. He was in capital form on t-lie day, and that meant some first-class placing and a steadiness that fully entitled him to victory. Gover got in some good work and many of the lost games were taken to vantage all before Coleman’scored the winning hits.
