YOUNG MAN TAKES HIS LIFE. Press Association. DUNEDIN, Feb. 3. The body of a man named Joseph Robson, a groom, out of work, was found almost decapitated by the side of the 'railway, 60 chains south of Ravensbourne station, this afternoon. Two passengers by the North express state that they saw deceased throw himself between the carriages from a second-class carriage platform. Deceased a day or two ago gave himself up to the police, requesting to be locked up, as he was destitute, and unable to obtain employment. Ho was charged with vagrancy at the Police Court this morning, .and was ordered to como up for sentence when called upon, and left the Court with Air. Gumming, of the Patients and Prisoners’ Aid Society. A second-class ticket for Oamaru and a shilling given to him by Mr. Gumming were all that wore found in the pockets of the deceased.
