A DROWNING FATALITY.

RESCUED TOO LATE.

Press Association. DUNEDIN* Feb. 2. A drowning accident occurred at Dunedin wharf shortly after 1 o’clock this morning, tho victim being a man about 45 years of age, whoso body has not yet been identified. The deceased was shown oil board the Corinna by a wharf laborer about 10 last night. Early this morning the Union Co.’s night watchman heard a splash in the water, and he and another man threw deceased a ropo. Deceased was pulled ashore and a medical man was sent for, but when the doctor arrived, deceased bad expired.
