THE WATER SUPPLY
[To the EcJron.J Sir, —The manner in which the water supply is played with is, to the least, a misleading process. .- J-ne water and power is turned oft nightly, plainly showing that there is either something wrong, or that ih. Hay is afraid something will go wrong if the pressure-is left on. Yet i. see Mr. Hav asked the Council at last meeting to take over the water, stating that everything is right. No'v, sir, if everything is right, why is -'•* l Hay aifraid to have the full force on, Does lie ... mean to imply that he _ is giving the Council a fair trial i ret lie wants them to take it over. 1 consider the Council should have a month’s trial with the water on .at full power before taking it over, as all the bursts-out after they take it over will have to ho rectified at the expense of the ratepayers, outside the contract. —I am, etc., “RATEPAYER.”
