ORCHARDS IN AUCLKAND.
A NEW PEST APPEARS.
Press Association. AUCKLAND, Jan. 30. The Mediterranean fruit fly has made its appearance in this province, having been discovered in an orchard at Devonport. It seems, so far, to bo confined to one small area, and every effort is beinjj made by the Government Pomologist, who is on tlio spot, to prevent its spread.
